Purple Class are a cheerful group of students in Kindergarten grade. All the students love to sing songs and make music and enjoy working together in class. This term we are looking at Australia – the people, the environment and the animals. The students have already started making some great animal craft and have been exploring the different textures of the various environments that make up our country. Each morning we work together to learn the letters of the alphabet, days of the week, the weather and participate in various maths activities.
The students are also working towards their individual goals, particularly in the area of communication, and are continuing to focus on gaining independence with our daily activities including unpacking our bags, toileting, eating meals and accessing the community as a group.
Our busy week is filled with numerous activities including Special Olympics, music, art, swimming, community walks and desk work. We also join with Rainbow class to play group games, participate in numeracy groups, complete fine motor tasks and do relaxing yoga.
