Inspire – High potential and gifted education
At Cromehurst School we believe that every student has strengths and potential. For students with disability, high potential and giftedness may look different and we are committed to recognising and nurturing each child’s individual abilities, interests and talents.
Our teachers take a strengths-based approach to learning, carefully identifying areas where students show potential and providing opportunities for them to grow and succeed. We understand that high potential can be seen in many areas, including learning, creativity, communication, leadership, sport and personal interests.
Students at Cromehurst are encouraged to have a voice in their learning and school life. Opportunities such as student leadership help build confidence, independence and self-advocacy. We also support students to connect with positive role models and real-world experiences that align with their interests and aspirations.
We provide a range of learning opportunities beyond the classroom, including participation in the Willougby Buddies Program and Premier’s Sporting Challenge, allowing students to challenge themselves in ways that suit their abilities.
Technology is used to support learning and communication, giving students flexible ways to access learning, demonstrate their skills and develop their talents.
Our staff regularly engage in professional learning to strengthen their understanding of high potential and gifted education. This ensures students receive personalised support that recognises both their abilities and their individual learning needs.
At Cromehurst School, we work in partnership with families to support every student to reach their full potential in a safe, supportive and inclusive environment.
